I love tools, like this crock of kitchen utensils, at hand beside my stove-top.

This antique striking clock is both handsome and useful. It keeps perfect time (so long as it’s wound!), and I can hear it from all rooms upstairs in my home.

Next to the front door, a rustic hook holds the key to our locking mailbox. The copper and crystal art piece was created by a dear friend who passed away a few years ago. It is a lovely reminder of her sweet spirit.

In the music room downstairs, the walls are lined with Creighton’s massive CD collection of Jazz, Classical, Rock, Folk and Celtic music. The bass featured is a Fender Precision, one of his four bass guitars.

“What was it? She wondered. What happened on their first encounter that seized her heartstrings and never let go? Was it his bright blue eyes? Yes. His smile? Yes. A voice rich in laughter? Yes, and his beautiful Gibson six-string guitar.”

Thanks to Patti for this opportunity to showcase everyday objects that bring me joy!

Thank you, Rupali. Our beagle dog, Jello always makes herself comfortable and this perch allows her to watch the world (people and dogs) walking by outside the window!

Thank you, Chris. Creighton loves antique clocks. Sometime I’ll do a post featuring all of them!

Wonderful Lindy. Loved your homage to your husband’s 6-string Gibson and consequently of the man himself 😊. Well done!

Thank you, Tina. The free-write about meeting him doesn’t tell it all, but certainly gets to the heart of it!

This is wonderful, Lindy. I’m sure your husband is smiling about why you fell in love with him! And your dog is the picture of comfort! I love that you highlighted objects with special meaning for you. It gives us a great glimpse into your home/your life.

Thank you, Patti. Creighton and I have long reminisced over our first meeting and how that beautiful guitar was part of it!

Thank you, Leya. Recently I’d done a free-write on how Creighton and I met, and it seemed just the right thing to add to this post!
