Tina invites us to “share images of the people we’ve captured along the way.” I’m starting with a fellow dog-lover who frequents the same dog park where I take Max and Daisy for our daily romps when we’re in Vancouver; Ceasar Esparsa, and his beautiful doberman pinscher, Kai.

I consider Caesar to be a dog whisperer. Dogs are comfortable with him, and he treats them with gentle love, as you can see while Max gets an ear rub and Daisy waits her turn.

Sometimes I see folks walking or frolicking along the surfs edge at Long Beach, and I wonder; what are they thinking? How are they feeling? Distant images, like the three above leave plenty of space for us to interpret and imagine.

My dear friend (and colleague for years), Ruth is the life of any party. She is in her element with this group of neighbors at my garden party a few years back.

Just before the first Covid virus caused us to shut down everything, I went to a gathering that was simply called “Kitchen Music.” It was open to anyone who wanted to make music or listen. I was very excited about the whole concept and was sorely disappointed when it went away, as did so many other lovely group activities during those hard Covid years.

A lovely and varied gallery, Lindy! Loved the dog whisperer and the Kitchen Music especially. What a great idea – sorry it disappeared. i had just started singing in a lovely choir when covid made it disappear. Is the Kitchen Music back again? Unfortunately my choir never came back.
You may have guessed …its the beach scene with two lone walker is my favourite. 🙂
That is a favorite of mine too. So contemplative, quiet, thoughtful. Thanks, David!
Great selections Lindy. Love all the friends, family, beach walkers, and good dogs!
Thank you, John. Never leave out a dog when you can include one or more!!!
👍👏
Loved your choices this week Lindy – you offered us a lovely variety with thoughtful stories. Loved the “dog-whisperer” and the image of your sister and her family. Condolences on your losses. It’s a reminder of how important our favorite family images can become. Your sister and her daughter could be twins!
Thank you, Tina. Five years later, baby Micah is in third grade! Family first, always. Hugs!
For some reason I am not able to turn off the notification for comments, and my inbox gets inundated. That particular selection, no matter how many times I click on it, double-click, hold it down etc. it will not deselect–it goes to the black dot then bounces back to the blue! It’s making me nuts. The other notification options will turn off, but of course I don’t need to turn them off. Any ideas? I do like your blog but don’t really need to get a notification for every comment!
I think if you unsubscribe wordpress will stop sending you email alerts. Try that!
I am sorry for your losses. It never gets easier and you did a nice job and sharing the tenderness in the moment. I imagine you stay in touch with your niece and she is grateful for your presence. And oh, that Ruth! I love people like that . Very different from me, and yet I love being around people with all that “love” and energy.
Thank you, Donna! My niece does stay in touch, at least with her mom and thereby with me! Ruth, I’m so glad you caught her personality from the photo!
