When I stumbled upon this abandoned site in a vacant lot near a busy thoroughfare, I felt sad and disturbed. It was eerie to see where homeless people had gathered and slept, and I wondered who had been there, how long and why they left without all their gear.

Yeah, that’s sad all right. Kind of creepy, too, because you may have stumbled onto a crime scene. One thing is for sure, there is some kind of story there.

I can understand why it disturbed you. Things like this are definitely creepy.
It is sad to see the remains of the homeless and creepy to think what happened to them.
