Toadstools like these have been few and far between this hot dry summer in the Pacific Northwest. Today the rains have returned in earnest, so I expect to see more of these big beauties popping up soon.

Comes and goes — fierce to quiet, which it is now with big clouds tumbling across a blue sky.
