While on my walk this morning I kept asking myself “what is your greatest pleasure?” Many answers came; living in a safe neighborhood, walking on a windy though not yet rainy day, having a home and husband to go back to, the warmth of a fire, food, family, friends, places to go that nourish my soul, a warm bed to sleep in. Then I realized there is a new treat in my life that I have only experienced since June 10, 2015 — when I open my eyes I can see 20/20.
Considered legally blind all my life, I could not function without glasses or contact lenses. Cataract surgery in both left and right eyes, replaced the scarred and weak lenses with ones that are the exact correction needed for me to see.
I always felt blessed that I could see anything, now I am grateful to see clearly the moment I lift my eyelids!
In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Treat.”
Lindy, that’s a treat like no other! So happy for you.

Thank you so much. It has been such a delight from morning til night.
Did you send me an invitation re: 3 quotes, while I was away?
No, Lindy, but in fact, I realize I forgot to nominate three bloggers in my last 3 quotes post. So consider yourself nominated if you’d like to participate. I’m not sure any of my nominees participated at all. 🙂
I’ve often thought that eyesight would be the worst of the senses to lose. How wonderful it must be for you to have clear vision! Great idea for a response!
Oh, Tina, losing any sense must be incredibly difficult. My lack of vision was diagnosed the first day I entered grade school. Before then, all my other senses kept me on track. Sometimes I think it was a blessing in disguise!
Good for you!
I have had mild cataracts… but my eyes are improving from the usage of N-Acetyl-Carnosine eye drops. I will continue to use them.
Hope it helps you see clearly, just as your mind is clear and strong!
What a blessing. I work with the visually impaired, although they adapt to life marvelously, nothing replaces clear vision.
I’ve been so fortunate that vision technology has kept up with the decline in my ability to see. Thank you for your dedication to the visually impaired, and give them hugs from me!
