Hydrangea thrives in my gardens. I love their abundant blue blossoms which cheer me whenever I look at them.
Over the course of a hot summer, the plants that get direct sunlight turn almost a rust color. These two shots are of blossoms from the same plant at different times in the season.
By autumn the blues have faded into shades of green, sometimes becoming a shimmering opalescent. After a hard frost, the blooms are fading, though they still hold onto some of their subtle beauty.
