~ Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Time to Relax ~

At the end of the day, I enjoy peaceful moments outside listening to the birds as they gather at nearby feeders, and watching koi glean the surface in my pond.

On hot evenings, such as we have been experiencing this past week, sprinkling around the top of the waterfall creates a cooling effect and attracts birds to bathe and drink.

Mourning Doves are frequent visitors.

While I enjoy a glass of crisp wine, Jello likes to rest in this earthen nest she’s fashioned under a shrub. Here she can nod off to sleep and still keep an eye on me!

Cheers to all!

  1. “Jello” ! That is an awesome dog’s name. How did you come by it?

    • Lindy Le Coq says:

Jello came to us with her name when she was 3 1/2 years old. The young man who had to give her up didn’t tell me how she got her name, so I don’t know the whole story. She is a sweet girl!

  2. It’s so good to see that Jello is well! My favorite time is in the morning, watching the bats go in for the day and the hummingbirds come out. That’s also the coolest time of the day here in Central Texas, where the daytime highs have been in the triple digits. So it’s coffee for me, wine by the pool later!

I’m finishing my second mug of coffee on the deck watching chickadees and finch feed and hummingbirds sip! Cannot imagine living in the heat you are having!

Very relaxing indeed. Wine at night coffee in the morning, bird watching and dog loving. Yup, pretty relaxing. PS. I love the name of your dog too.

  4. Tiny says:

Your pond sanctuary looks very peaceful, Lindy! Beautiful pictures, too.
