Over the past few years LT, who lives across the street, and I have hosted gatherings to bring our near neighbors together. Mind you, we come from divergent political positions, some even at pole opposites, however all who attend uphold a tacit agreement to leave our politics at the door. We come together sharing food and spirits, to celebrate being a community that looks out for one another.
This December was my turn to have the holiday gathering. Coming as it did, after the midterm election (the results of which I continue to celebrate), I am pleased that our tradition of civility and good cheer endures.
Cheers to peaceful commemorations of our shared humanity!

We have the same rule here Lindy – the moment politics comes up bad things happen so we all agree to leave the politics at the door. We have uber conservatives and uber liberals as well as everything in between so it’s an important rule that everyone abides by. Wishing you all of the joys of the season.
Thank you, Tina! Hope your holidays are full of good cheer.
Getting along despite political differences is well worth celebrating.
Indeed!!!
