~ Lens-Artists Challenge #417: Where Does it Lead? ~

Egídio leads this week with an invitation to showcase photos that guide us into the scene. He offers three ways to approach the topic: literally, by featuring “any surface built or worn for travel,” compositionally, with “photos that move the eye…the destination barely matters next to the shape of the getting there,” and interpretively, using “tracks and traces, or metaphor.”

Walking trails are a pleasure to be on and always invite me to snap photos of where I am. The first time on a trail is always an adventure, since I don’t know where it will take me! In nature, I’m not afraid; cautious and careful, though confident.

Here are two favorite photos that draw the eye to a a vanishing point, representative of the compositional mode.

Thank you for the third approach to the challenge, Egídio. The interpretive option “opens the prompt up wide” allowing for the use of “tracks and traces, or metaphor.” Oooh, metaphor; “a thing regarded as representative or symbolic of something else, especially something abstract.” New Oxford American Dictionary.

Thanks to Egídio for another uplifting and wide open challenge. To see his post click here.

On your walk with life, please honor our earth, encourage dignity and share kindness. 🐾

  1. Lindy, I always enjoy your take on a challenge. As a fan of bridges, my favorite is your shot of the bridge approach. My favorite of the metaphors is the muted coastal study.

Lindy, your images are great examples of the three different ways to approach the challenge. My favorite is the first on of Jello at the top of the trail. I also love the bridge.
