Beautiful Blue ~ Weekly Photo Challenge ~ Colors of the Rainbow
Blue calms me — gives me a sense of peace. Shading from light to dark and green to violet, blue embraces all who look up to the sky and into earths waters.

Glorious Greens ~ Weekly Photo Challenge ~ Colors of the Rainbow
Green evokes new life — fresh growth, verdant fields, and deep forests. In the moderate climate of the Pacific Northwest, green dominates the scene year-round.

Tones of Red ~ Weekly Photo Challenge ~ Colors of the Rainbow
According to Roy G. Biv, there are seven colors in the rainbow. This week’s challenge invites an exploration of these tones, together or separate. Being a lover of nature, light and hue I’ve decided to dedicate one day for each color.
Whenever I try to separate colors, I am reminded how one blends into the next and to the next. Love it — hope you do too!
ROY G. BIV“>Red. Orange. Yellow. Green. Blue. Indigo. Violet.

~~~ Raising Crows ~~~
For the past few years we have had a pair of crows nesting in or near our yard. The process of raising their fledgling continues long after the young bird has left its nest. For days on end, while it scuttles around finding shelter in the underbrush, the parents caw to it, feed it and warn-off any intruders. I am an intruder.
I continue to remind them, “Hey, I live here too!” but they just don’t get it. Ah well, they keep squirrels, hawks and starlings away, and that is a fair trade.
Do you see them in the canopy? One is on the left silhouetted against the light green leaves, the other is on the right it’s head and beak outlined by the sky. And while I’m at it, did you see my beagle in yesterday’s Wordless Wednesday? I even had to point her out to my husband!!
~ Song Sparrow ~ Monochrome Monday ~
This male English Song Sparrow, perched along the fence beside my pond every evening this spring. Atop the trellis he claimed dominion over this bit of territory with his lovely, full-throated call.
