Ritva asks us to stretch our photographic skills this week by presenting minimalist images in Black & White. For a lover of color, this is indeed a challenge! All of the images I’ve selected started as color shots and have been converted to B&W, including monotone shots like this one, taken on a very foggy morning at the Breakers, Long Beach, WA.

A graceful driftwood branch emerged from dense fog on my morning walk at Long Beach, WA.

The stark silhouette of this Bald Eagle perched on driftwood makes an impactful image.

Lindy, these are wonderful! I really like them all but the eagle on the driftwood is my favorite.
Love the Eagle…but all great
Lindy, you picked dramatic photos for the challenge. I like all photos. You are absolutely correct about the last shot. The pelicans look very expressive.
You can just hear that bird in your final image Lindy…WOO HOO !!! Loved your choices especially the 2 foggy openers.
Lindy, it does not look like you are having any trouble with this challenge, these are so good the mist does make wonderful minimalist photography. Bald Eagle is great shot even though it’s not as minimalistic as the shot above it.
