~ Monochrome Monday ~ Insight Outsights ~

This week I am staying with my sister Diana, and brother-in-law Les, in Corvallis, Oregon for a few days. Our ninety-three year old father (who lives on his own in Corvallis) has a series of medical appointments, and the three of us will be tag-teaming to get him ready for, and to them all.

It’s time for Dad to move into assisted care and he’s just now accepting that inevitability. This is bound to be an intense and challenging week for me on all levels. I’ll post as I can — it helps keep my creative soul alive!

This just cracked me up when I saw it!  Cool little old tractor turned into a “hands on” for kids.

~ Mutable Clouds ~ Friday Flyers ~

If it’s from nature and in the air, or can get there on its own, it’s a Friday Flyer!

Whether they are ominous or dreamy, threatening or promising, clouds fill our skies and lift our eyes with wonder.

“Nature is a mutable cloud which is always and never the same.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

~ Mushroom Madness! ~

With the advent of rains this autumn, mushrooms of all shapes and sizes have proliferated. Here are a few favorites of this season.

Someday I want to learn to identify them. For now, I have fun taking photos!

~ Seasonal Change ~ Tuesday Two by Two + WPC – Treat 3 ~

One of my favorite treats is being in, and observing nature. From the beauty of seeing a special place, to the rewards of nurturing the grounds around me, nature provides endless opportunity for joy. In this two by two, I feature a neighbors lovely Pin Oak tree framed by the sky and light of spring and autumn. Usually it would hold its leaves well into winter, but with drought conditions this summer, most of the leaves have dropped.

~ Monochrome Monday + WPC – Treat ~

Wild water is a treat to behold. The flicker of light on a moving surface, creating refractions and reflections, currents and undulations with their attendant wash, splash or rumbling resonance. In this setting, the cool morning mist at sunup, and the fresh fragrance of evergreens added to the sense of peace — which is always a treat.

~ Buck-fifty a Gallon Gas ~ Cee’s Oddball Photo Challenge ~

When I visited Olga, the gas pumps out front of the store caught my eye.

After exploring the lovely place, I took a couple close-ups of what the pumps had to say.

To see the beauty of Olga, check out my post: https://lindylecoq.wordpress.com/2015/10/17/olga-weekly-photo-challenge-extraordinary/

~ Clear Sight ~ Weekly Photo Challenge – Treat ~

While on my walk this morning I kept asking myself “what is your greatest pleasure?” Many answers came; living in a safe neighborhood, walking on a windy though not yet rainy day, having a home and husband to go back to, the warmth of a fire, food, family, friends, places to go that nourish my soul, a warm bed to sleep in. Then I realized there is a new treat in my life that I have only experienced since June 10, 2015 — when I open my eyes I can see 20/20.

Considered legally blind all my life, I could not function without glasses or contact lenses. Cataract surgery in both left and right eyes, replaced the scarred and weak lenses with ones that are the exact correction needed for me to see.

I always felt blessed that I could see anything, now I am grateful to see clearly the moment I lift my eyelids!

~ Beware! ~ Friday Flyers + WPC – Careful ~

If it’s from nature and in the air, or can get there on its own, it’s a Friday Flyer! In honor of Samhuinn (Samhain)* here are some spooky spiders.

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Careful.”

*Samhuinn Scottish, Samhain (pronounced /ˈsɑːwɪn/ SAH-win or /ˈs.ɪn/ SOW-in[1] is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the “darker half” of the year. Wikipedia
